Mayell, founded in 2020, is a New York City-based real estate brokerage focused on millennial clientele in search of luxury housing throughout the five boroughs. Mayell provides a suite of bespoke, high-touch concierge-like services to help clients streamline their apartment search most efficiently. Benjamin Mayell, started the firm in January of 2020 building off of his years of prior experience within the commercial and residential real estate industry. Leveraging his vast network and knowledge of the New York City neighborhoods and community, Ben is building a highly-differentiated brokerage built on the premise of establishing genuine and personal connections with clients and cultivating a lasting culture based on strong team values.

Team-based Culture

One of the core differentiators for Mayell is building a team-first culture with unparalleled access to brokers and knowledgeable agents who are passionate about the markets they serve. Ben Mayell, as a licensed broker, takes a hands-on approach to building the team and helping to establish connections with potential and current clients. With the current team today, Ben accompanies agents with many of their showings to leverage his strong base of expertise and knowledge across the residential real estate category. As a long-term vision, Mayell will bring on additional brokers to provide more of a group-based environment for agents and clients. The traditional brokerage model today relies on hiring a large amount of agents, with limited broker interactions. This creates a disincentive for agents and a lack of visibility for clients as to who they are working with. Mayell solves this by providing a deeper level of access to brokers and more robust training for agents as they continue within their careers. In particular, the hands-on training aspect can serve to counter a traditionally overwhelming career path that can be filled with uncertainty and lack of clarity relative to progression.

Bespoke Concierge Services

Mayell’s core competency and differentiator centers around providing a deep level of high-value concierge-like services to future and potential clients. Known as “The People’s Brokerage”, the team prides themselves on an ability to accommodate all types of clients. Unlike traditional brokerages, Mayell views client relationships and showings as the most important part of the process, whether or not a client will sign a new lease. This means agents and brokers within Mayell are providing 24/7 access to themselves and their resources. All clients are provided car and transportation services to and from showings (at no cost to the client), in addition to custom lists and recommendations generated for each neighborhood of choice. Prior to this, Mayell team members partake in a thorough screening conversation with clients to gain a better sense of their housing needs and timelines. With this information in mind, Mayell leverages a proprietary network of resources and connections to grant clients access to exclusive buildings throughout the five boroughs. As these relationships progress, clients are taken on tours of their prospective neighborhoods which includes social events such as dinners, drinks, or events, all of which are at no cost to the clients. Once a client signs a new lease, a member of the Mayell team reaches out to schedule either congratulatory events or coordinating housewarming gifts and services. With an understanding that the residential real estate busines is relationship focused, Mayell consistently reaches above and beyond industry standards.
